Background:
TIBS has been determined to build new Biotech companies in Singapore for novel drug discovery. One of the projects in the pipeline is to collaborate with local researcher to build a NewCo. of drug discovery and early development for enable scientific innovation to address unmet medical needs. The project has been developed to the stage that we are looking for a full-time project lead to drive the NewCo set up, and R&D activities from hit to lead, to pre-clinical and early development.
Key Description:
- Project Management and Execution
o Plan, coordinate, and lead drug discovery.
o Manage project timelines, budgets, risk assessments, and deliverable tracking.
o Ensure achievement of key scientific and operational milestones with high quality standards.
- External Partner Oversight
o Manage activities conducted by CROs, academic collaborators, and external partners.
o Oversee chemistry, biology, pharmacology, and preclinical studies to ensure timely and high-quality outcomes.
- Internal Capability Development
o Oversee tech transfer to build the internal competency in drug screening and assessment systems.
- Scientific and Strategic Oversight
o Collaborate closely with biology, chemistry, translational, and preclinical teams on study design, data interpretation, and decision-making.
o Stay informed on scientific advances related to the project.
- Business Proposal and Business Development Support
o Prepare scientific and technical content for business proposals, grant applications, partnering decks, and investor materials.
o Collaborate with the business development and executive team to craft compelling project narratives for external engagements.
o Participate in scientific due diligence discussions, partnering meetings, and represent program updates to potential partners and investors.
- Cross-functional Leadership
o Coordinate project research activities between discovery, biology, chemistry, translational science, and preclinical groups.
o Lead project meetings, manage communication flows, and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
- Project Reporting
o Deliver high-quality internal reports, milestone updates, board presentations, and partnership briefing documents.

Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline;
- 5+ years of project leadership experience in biotech or pharmaceutical drug discovery settings. IND enabling experience is preferred
- Hands-on experience managing external research collaborations and internal cross-functional teams;- Experience with biological assay development, biomarker measurements, or pharmacology research;
- Excellent project management, organizational, and scientific communication skills;
- Ability to synthesize complex scientific information into clear, business-facing deliverables;
- Highly committed to drive the venture building process and demonstrate ability to take critical positions in the NewCo.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience contributing to partnering discussions, due diligence processes, or strategic business development efforts;
- Prior experience in an early-stage biotech or startup environment;
- PMP certification or equivalent project management training is a plus.

Job Summary:
We are looking for Venture Partners to build Biotech NewCo in Singapore. The Venture Partner will be working with TIBS global investment team to identify and develop the incubation opportunities for novel drug discovery and development. The objective is to work closely with scientific researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, and other stakeholders to transform scientific breakthroughs into globally competitive biotech companies. This role requires a combination of drug discovery knowledge and business skills to support early-stage companies in building a strong foundation for growth.
Venture Partners for incubation will participate in the new company that they created and serve as Founder/Co-founders/Executive/Management team members.
Venture Partner in residency is the preferred model. Other flexible model is subjected to discussion.
Job Description
- Source the investment opportunities to translate breakthrough science into a corporate venture
- Lead or support new venture building including research plan, budget forecast, market landscape analysis, team recruiting and risk control plan. Work as a project lead to develop a comprehensive Business Proposal (BP) for the incubation project in Singapore. The BP shall include but not limited to:
- Initial scientific design with strategy of target/modality selection
- Methodology and roadmap to reduce the scientific risk
- Market and commercial analysis for the new drug and/or platform
- Valuation of the NewCo, financial forecast and cash planning
- Team structure design and source of the talents
- Others as required
- Conduct pre-incubation market research to understand the demand, competition, and feasibility of new ventures
- Lead the venture building projects and support the potential collaborations with global research institutes and other partners
- Lead fundraising activities for the incubation projects

· Education: Advanced degree in biomedical field (e.g., Biology, Medicine, MD).

· Industry Knowledge: Good understanding of Biotech operations, drug discovery protocol, and the biotech startup landscape.

We are looking for post-graduate students to join our internship program. Our interns will be participating in professional topics such as industry research, project and technology evaluation, and have the opportunity to understand the complex strategic and operation considerations involved from project mining to post-investment management.
Every intern will be assigned to an investment manager for a 1-to-1 mentorship with learning and development plans to help each intern gain the relevant knowledge involved in the translation of biological insights to biotech company creation.
1. Post-graduate students possessing a BSc. Degree in Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Medicine or related field
